Kumar Sangakkara's role under scruitny

The T20 World Cup victory has enhanced Rahul Dravid's impressive resume, and the Royals, who built a formidable squad over the past three years, will be looking to capture that elusive title under his guidance. However, Dravid's anticipated appointment introduces uncertainty regarding Kumar Sangakkara's future role. Former Sri Lankan cricketer Sangakkara, who previously held dual roles as Director of Cricket and coach for the franchise, now faces ambiguity about his position.

Currently, Sangakkara is serving as the Director of Cricket for all three Royals franchises, including Paarl in the SA20 and Barbados in the CPL. The Royals were knocked out in the second qualifier of the 2024 season, after finishing as runners-up in the IPL in 2022.
