New Delhi. In the 12th match of IPL 2025, Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians (KKR vs MI) faced each other. In this match, Mumbai registered a spectacular victory by 8 wickets. Thanks to the brilliant bowling of 23-year-old Ashwin Kumar, MI bowled out KKR for 116 runs. While chasing, Mumbai Indians achieved this score in just 12.5 overs. KKR had a very bad start when openers Quinton de Kock (1) and Sunil Narine (0) were out in the first two overs. At the end of the powerplay, KKR's score was 41 runs for four wickets. Bolt dismissed Sunil Narine in the very first over with a full length ball. In the next over, Chahar got de Kock caught by Ashwin at mid-off.
Rahane tried to ease the pressure by hitting a six and a four but Ashwin sent him to the pavilion on the very first ball. This fast bowler from Punjab tempted the KKR captain to play forward and he played a shot in the air and got caught at deep backward point. 23-year-old Ashwin Kumar took the wickets of Ajinkya Rahane (11), Rinku Singh (17), Manish Pandey (17) and Andre Russell (5). Deepak Chahar took two wickets for 19 runs while Trent Boult got one wicket.
Angkrish Raghuvanshi (26) hit fours on both sides of the wicket and also hit a six to Ashwin Kumar. Raghuvanshi also returned to the pavilion after playing an irresponsible shot. Naman Dheer caught him at deep square leg on Hardik Pandya's ball. Pandey, who came as an impact sub, was dismissed by Ashwini in the 11th over. In this way KKR scored 116 runs in 16.2 overs.
Mumbai Indians, who came out to chase, won the match in just 12.5 overs. Rohit Sharma, who came to open, could score only 13 runs in 11 balls but Ryan Rickelton, who came with him, played a brilliant innings of 62 runs. Will Jacks scored 16 runs.
