IPL 2024: Players' registration race intensifies as the deadline approaches

The interested players have to register for the tournament and submit their names along with No Objection Certificates (NOCs) from respective cricket boards.

The highly awaited player's auction of IPL 2024 is just a few weeks ahead as the grand event is scheduled to take place on December 19 in Dubai. The deadline for players to register for the tournament is Thursday, November 30. 

As per the guidelines, the interested players have to register for the tournament and submit their names along with No Objection Certificates (NOCs) from respective cricket boards. 

How many players will participate in IPL 2024 auction?

In the seventeenth edition of IPL, over 700 players are expected to register their names for the auction including some big sharks of the world cricket. After some big players were released by their respective teams, the recent top performers of the ODI World Cup 2023 including Daryl Mitchell, Pat Cummins, and Travis Head are likely to be sold out for big bucks. Young guns Rachin Ravindra, Ibrahim Zadran, Rahmat Shah, and others are eyeing a huge sum after their brilliant performances in World Cup 2023 on Indian soil. 

70 players to be sold at auction

As per the reports from Cricbuzz, after the completion of the registration process, the franchises will be requested further to shorten the list as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is expecting around 70 players to be sold at the auction. The top governing body of the country is expecting transactions of around INR 262.95 crore. 

It's worth noting that the ten franchises have 77 slots available, which is to be filled including 30 foreign players.
