IPL honuors Chandrayaan 3 mission

During the event, the performers also honored the Indian Space Research Organisation's (ISRO) Chandrayaan 3 mission, which concluded successfully on August 23, 2023. Notably, with the Vikram Lander Module (LM) touching down on the lunar surface, India joined the ranks of the United States, China, and the former Soviet Union (now Russia) as the fourth nation to achieve this feat.

Furthermore, India made history by being the first nation to land on the south pole of the Moon, marking the occasion with jubilation nationwide. In recognition of the ISRO scientists' dedication, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) paid tribute to the Chandrayaan 3 mission by featuring a special graphic of the landing during the IPL 2024 opening ceremony.
