IPL 2024: In an unexpected turn of events during a match in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, Delhi Capitals (DC) secured a crucial wicket, thanks to a strategic move by Kuldeep Yadav and Rishabh Pant. Facing Rajasthan Royals (RR), Kuldeep's cunning delivery caught Jos Buttler off guard as he attempted a reverse sweep.

Despite initial denial by umpire Nand Kishore, Kuldeep's conviction led him to signal for a Decision Review System (DRS) review, grabbing Pant's hand in the process. The subsequent review confirmed Buttler's dismissal, a significant blow to RR's batting lineup.

Ashwin-Riyan Parag lead RR's fightback against DC

Buttler's departure was a setback for Rajasthan Royals, adding to the woes of their Big Three. DC's Mukesh Kumar and Khaleel Ahmed dismissed Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson, respectively, further weakening RR's position. In response, RR's Ravichandran Ashwin and Riyan Parag initiated a spirited fightback, with Ashwin contributing a brisk 29 off 19 balls, including three sixes. Parag's stellar performance, culminating in a career-best 84 off 45 balls, propelled RR to a competitive total of 185 for 5 in their allotted 20 overs.

Despite Kuldeep Yadav's impactful wicket, RR's resilient batting display, led by Ashwin and Parag, ensured an intriguing contest between the two sides at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.

Rajasthan Royals' commanding victory

In pursuit of the target, DC openers started well. The Australian pair of David Warner and Mitchell Marsh hammered runs at a brisk rate in powerplay. However, Nandre Burger's double blow steadied the ship of Delhi Capitals. Tristan Stubbs's efforts at the end went in vain as fell short of the target by 12 runs.
