IPL 2024:  The highly anticipated clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium became the center stage for a reconciliatory moment between Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli. In a surprising turn of events, the two hugged each other. This is their first encounter since their heated conversation during a match in Lucknow last year.

However, during the RCB-KKR match, the two cricketing giants put aside their differences, which captured the hearts of millions of cricket fans and sent the internet abuzz.

Naveen-ul-Haq triggered Virat Kohli

The incident from the previous IPL season at the Ekana Stadium occurred where Gambhir, then mentoring Lucknow Super Giants, and Kohli clashed over a match situation. Kohli's confrontation with LSG bowler Naveen-ul-Haq sparked tensions, resulting in a confrontation between Kohli and Gambhir, subsequently leading to charges of misconduct from the BCCI.

In a KKR practice session video circulating before the match, Kohli's frosty demeanor towards Gambhir further fueled anticipation for the showdown. However, during a timeout after the 16th over, the tension diffused as Kohli and Gambhir shared a warm hug and exchanged smiles. The gesture, witnessed by millions, earned praise from cricketing legend and former India head coach Ravi Shastri, who commended the display of sportsmanship.

Virat Kohli's brilliant knock goes in vain

On the field, Kohli showcased his mettle again and crafted a formidable partnership with Cameron Green and Glenn Maxwell. He hammered 83 runs in 59 deliveries that propelled RCB's innings to a respectable total of 182.

Sunil Narine steals the show

This is Kohli's second fifty of the IPL 2024 season, following his stellar performance against Punjab Kings. However, KKR chased down the target with ease in just 16.5 overs. The fiery knock of Sunil Narine stole the show. RCB won one out of three matches in IPL 2024 season.
