IPL 2024: The star allrounder of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Glenn Maxwell on Wednesday has confirmed his participation in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.

According to reports from Cricbuzz, the Australian cricketer said that he will play for RCB until he can't walk anymore. He said, "The IPL will probably be the last tournament I ever play, as I will play the IPL until I can't walk anymore."

Flawless Maxwell

Notably, RCB bought the services of the Australian allrounder for a whooping amount of Rs 14.25 Crore in 2021. Maxwell performed exceptionally well by scoring 513, 301, and 400 runs in 2021, 2022, and 2023 respectively with a remarkable strike rate.

The 35 years said, "I was talking about how good the IPL has been to me throughout my career; the people I've met, the coaches I have played under, the international players that you get to rub shoulders with, how beneficial to my whole career that tournament has been."

Greatest learning experience, says Maxwell

Furthermore, he said, "You're rubbing shoulders with AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli for two months, talking to them while watching other games. It's just the greatest learning experience that any player could ask for."

Star Australians to feature in IPL 2024

As the World is around the corner, IPL will be played just before the ICC's top event. Maxwell also expressed that more Australian players will get the chance in IPL and get used to the subcontinent's conditions that they might encounter in the event. Interestingly, seven members of the World Cup winning squad including Travis Head, Josh Hazlewood, Pat Cummins, Josh Inglis, Steve Smith, and Mitchell Starc have registered themselves in the base price of Rs 2 Crore in the auction, which will be held on December 19 in Dubai.

The Australian allrounder also said, "Hopefully a lot of our Australian players can get over to the IPL and get to work in slightly similar conditions to the West Indies, where it is a little bit drier, it will spin."

As the star allrounder continues to hammer runs at a brisk rate, RCB retains him.
