INDW vs ENGW: The first day of the one-off Test against England witnessed a historic feat for Indian women's cricket on Thursday at the DY Patil Sports Academy. Indian women's team posted a mammoth 410/7 at the stumps, becoming only the second team in history to score over 400 runs in a single day of a women's Test.

India's aggressive approach

The day belonged to India as they hammered four half-centuries in the innings so far. Deepti Sharma (60*) and Pooja Vastrakar (4*) remained unbeaten at stumps. Renuka Thakur, Jemimah Rodrigues, and Shubha Satheesh received their Test debut caps before the match.

India's intention was evident from the start as the batters started to deal with boundaries. Shubha Satheesh, Jemimah Rodrigues, Yastika Bhatia and Deepti Sharma scored half-centuries to post a mammoth target. However, England bowlers scalped wickets on regular intervals, restricting the batters to convert the scores big.

Lauren Bell was the pick of the bowlers from the English side, who claimed two wickets.
