India vs England Tests: England is set to travel to India next month for a five-Test match series. The last time England conquered Indian soil in a Test series was a decade ago, in 2012. Since then, India handed consecutive losses to England in 2016 and 2021 on the home turf.

But this England team play with a different mindset as compared with the previous squad. The current team plays 'Bazball' under the leadership of Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum. Their "Bazball" approach, characterized by aggressive, attacking batting, has revolutionized the team and injected excitement into the sport.

Steve Harmison criticises England's strategy

However, former England fast bowler Steve Harmison has thrown cold water on their Indian ambitions, criticizing the lack of preparation time. He slammed the team's management for sending them 'undercooked' into a daunting challenge, predicting a humiliating 0-5 whitewash.

"If England go in three days before, they deserve to get beat 5-0," Harmison thundered.

Furthermore, he said, "You cannot go into India underprepared. You cannot go into India over-prepared. You could be in India six weeks before and still not be prepared for that first Test and the emotion of that. To be honest, I love this new approach. I love Ben Stokes, the Brendon McCullum approach, obviously Rob Key, and everything that they have done, ECB have done. But I'm sorry, going in three days before. You would never do that for an Ashes Test series."

Harmison's point is fair enough as England is expected to reach India just four days before the first Test in Hyderabad, with no warm-up games scheduled. The limited timeframe against India's formidable spin bowling and scorching Indian heat raises concerns.

Stokes witty response

Meanwhile, England's skipper Ben Stokes, took a sarcastic jab at Harmison's criticism. He reminded everyone of a planned training camp in the UAE before the series, for ample preparation despite the late arrival in India.

Ben replied to an X post (formerly Twitter), "Good job we're going to Abu Dhabi for a training camp before we go to India for even more training before that 1st Test then isn't it."

Who will win, India or England?

Only time can tell, whether England's prepared enough to tackle the spin wizards of India or the hosts will keep the trophy again.

The five Tests will be played in Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Rajkot, Ranchi, and Dharamsala. Notably, these pitches have a history of complimenting spinners.
