India is set to send a strong contingent of 446 members that will include 303 athletes at the fourth Asian Para Games. The mega sports event will be held in Hangzhou, China from October 22 to 28.A total of 303 sportspersons including 191 male and 112 female have been sanctioned by the Sports Ministry of India. These athletes will be competing across 17 sporting disciplines for the Asian Para Games.Apart from this, the sports ministry has also cleared a total of 143 coaches, escorts, officials and support staff. Moreover, 123 sportspersons out of the total number of athletes will only take part in athletics events. This is the biggest contingent India has ever sent in the Asian para games to date.In the last edition of the Asian Para Games held in Jakarta, India was represented by a total of 190 athletes across 13 sporting events and bagged 72 medals, including 15 golds.In the recent Asian Games, India gave a magnificent performance and earned the highest medal tally ever in the sports event. India finished with a record haul of 107, including 28 gold, at the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou.
