The 16th edition of the Asia Cup Championship has started, and Pakistan is the technical host of the tournament, while the matches will be played across Pakistan and Sri Lanka. India will start its campaign against long-standing rival Pakistan on Saturday. The two Asian giants play each other in ICC tournaments only due to political tensions.

On September 2, India and Pakistan will play each other as they are in the same group (Group A). If both teams qualify for the Super Fours, then their second meeting will be on September 10, and if both teams manage to qualify for the final, their third and final meeting will be on September 17.

Shoaib Malik tops the list of highest run-getters in men’s ODI Asia Cup matches between India and Pakistan, scoring 428 runs in five games, which includes two centuries and a half-century. Following him is Rohit Sharma, who has scored 367 runs in seven matches at an impressive average of 73.40. Third position is held by Younis Khan, with 238 runs at an average of 79.33, and Virat Kohli stands in fifth position with 206 runs at an average of 68.66.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma has scored 9837 runs in 244 matches and is just 163 runs away from completing the astonishing landmark of 10,000 runs. He will be the sixth Indian batter to achieve the feat. While Indian star batter Virat Kohli is just 102 runs away from completing the magical landmark of 13,000 runs. Virat has scored 12,898 runs in 275 matches at an average of 57.32. Pakistani batter Babar Azam is inching closer to Pakistan’s all-time record for ODI centuries. He has scored 19 centuries, and falling behind Saeed Anwar by 1 century.

As for the wickets chart in India vs. Pakistan matches in the men’s ODI Asia Cup, Saeed Ajmal leads with eight wickets from four games. Notably, among the top ten players on this list, the only one who will participate in the 2023 Asia Cup is Jasprit Bumrah, who has taken four wickets in two matches.
