India triumphed in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 as they beat New Zealand by four wickets in the final held at the Dubai International Stadium. This was India's first title in the Champions Trophy since 12 years ago.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma was a key factor behind the victory, adding 76 runs in an important manner to take the team close to the target. KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya, Shreyas Iyer, and Axar Patel were some of the other key contributory players, who played critical roles in bringing success to the team.

Spinners shine in the final

The Indian bowlers were instrumental in restricting New Zealand's innings. Varun Chakaravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav took two wickets each, and Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Shami took one wicket each. This bowling set the stage for India's winning chase.

A record third title for India

This victory earns India a record third Champions Trophy title. The team went unbeaten in the tournament, demonstrating their superiority in Dubai. Despite New Zealand's strong play, India's experience with the conditions and their consistent form placed them as favorites to retain the trophy.
