The Indian bowlers were instrumental in restricting New Zealand's innings. Varun Chakaravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav took two wickets each, and Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Shami took one wicket each. This bowling set the stage for India's winning chase.
This victory earns India a record third Champions Trophy title. The team went unbeaten in the tournament, demonstrating their superiority in Dubai. Despite New Zealand's strong play, India's experience with the conditions and their consistent form placed them as favorites to retain the trophy.
