IND vs ZIM: India beat Zimbabwe by 42 runs in the final clash of the five-match test series on Sunday. In pursuit of 167 runs, the hosts were bundled out on 125 runs. India secured 4-1 series victory by winning by 42 runs.


Early wickets shake India's start

Batting first, the Indian team posted a solid total of 167 runs in 20 overs. Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal began India's innings with a bang, hitting two stunning sixes. However, his momentum was cut short when Zimbabwe's captain Sikandar Raza clean-bowled him. Shubman Gill was also dismissed early. Abhishek Sharma added 14 runs off 11 balls before being dismissed.

Sanju Samson steadies India's innings

With India struggling, Sanju Samson took charge of the innings. He scored a vital 58 runs off 45 balls, including four sixes and one four. Contributions from Riyan Parag (22), Shivam Dubey (26), and Rinku Singh (11) helped India reach a competitive total.

Zimbabwe's chase falls short

Zimbabwe's chase got off to a poor start as opener Slay Madhevere was dismissed for a duck by Mukesh Kumar. Washington Sundar removed Tadivanashe Marumani for 27 runs, and Dion Myers, who was batting well, was dismissed after scoring 34 runs. Zimbabwe's captain Sikandar Raza managed only 8 runs, while Jonathan Campbell and Clive Madande added 4 and 1 run respectively.

Mukesh Kumar's brilliant bowling performance

Mukesh Kumar led the Indian bowling attack with an impressive performance and scalped 4 wickets. His victims included Slay Madhevere, Brian Bennett, Faraz Akram, and Richard Garawa. Shivam Dubey chipped in with 2 wickets, while Abhishek Sharma, Washington Sundar, and Tushar Deshpande each took one wicket. Shivam Dube was declared as Player of the Match while Washington Sundar won the Player of the Tournament award.
