IND vs ZIM: After fiery innings from Shubman Gill and Ruturaj Gaikwad Indian bowlers did their job well and restrited Zuimbabewe on 156 at Harare Sports Club. In pursuit of 183, Zimbabwe's batter were bamboozled by the bowling brilliance of Washington Sundar and Avesh Khan.

As the chase begins, Zimbabew lost their opener in the form of Wessly Madhevere. Pacer Avesh Khan's double strike dented Zimbabwe's prospects. He dismissed Wessly Madhevere on his very first ball of the over, followed by Brian Bennett in the next.

Zimbabwe lost another couple of wickets in quick succession. Sikandar Raza and Tadiwanashe Marumani were the men caught in the act. Dion Myers was the only batter who put up a fight against the formidable Indian lineup. He hammered 65 runs in 49 deliveries including 7 boundaries and a maximum.

Earlier on Wednesday, India won the toss and chose to bat first at Harare. Thanks to impressive performances by Indian captain Shubman Gill and Ruturaj Gaikwad, India put up a total of 182 runs on the scoreboard.

Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal validated the decision to bat first with a solid opening partnership of 67 runs. The Zimbabwean bowlers struggled to make an impact and failed to take any wickets during the powerplay. It was Sikandar Raza who finally broke the partnership by dismissing Yashasvi Jaiswal in the ninth over. Jaiswal contributed 36 runs, including 4 boundaries and 2 sixes.

Ruturaj Gaikwad steps up

Sikandar Raza struck again in his next over, taking the crucial wicket of Abhishek Sharma, who had scored a century in the previous match but was out for just 10 runs this time. After Sharma's dismissal, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shubman Gill stabilized the innings. Gill went on to score his second T20I fifty before being dismissed by Blessing Muzarabani for 66 off 49 balls.

Gaikwad's fiery performance

After the departure of skipper Shubman Gill, Ruturaj Gaikwad took the reins and played an aggressive innings. However, he fell just short of a well-deserved half-century, scoring 49 runs off 28 balls, which included 4 boundaries and 3 sixes.
