IND vs SL: After a dominating batting display, India secured 43 43-run victory against Sri Lanka at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. India posted a mammoth target of 214 after brilliant innings from Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav, and Rishabh Pant on Saturday. In pursuit of target, India bundled out Sri Lanka on 170 in 19.2 overs.

Winning the toss, Sri Lanka chose to bowl first. Indian openers Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal set an aggressive tone, creating a solid foundation with a 74-run partnership during the powerplay. Gill was the first to be dismissed by Dilshan Madushanka. He scored 34 off 16 balls.  Jaiswal followed soon after, contributing 40 runs off 21 balls.

Captain Suryakumar Yadav then took charge with a blistering half-century. He scored 58 runs off just 26 balls, including eight boundaries and two sixes. Rishabh Pant supported him well with a vital 49 runs. Their combined efforts helped India post a formidable total of 213/7 in their 20 overs.

Sri Lanka's response 

Sri Lanka began their chase with positve intent. Openers Kusal Mendis and Pathum Nissanka put together an impressive 84-run partnership. Mendis was dismissed after scoring 45, but Nissanka continued to battle on. He played a commendable innings, scoring 79 runs off 48 balls. He hammered  seven boundaries and four sixes.

Despite Nissanka's efforts, Sri Lanka struggled to form partnerships after his dismissal by Axar Patel. Indian bowlers managed to scalp wickets at regular interval.  Sri Lnakan team was eventually bowled out for 170 in 19.2 overs. 

Impressive bowling performance by India

India's bowlers were in top form, with Arshdeep Singh and Axar Patel each taking two wickets. Arshdeep's economical spell of 2/24 and Axar's 2/38 were crucial in restricting Sri Lanka's run chase. Mohammed Siraj also contributed by maintaining an impressive economy rate of 7.67.
