IND vs SA: In the highly anticipated clash, India is locking horns with South Africa in the T20 World Cup 2024 final at Kensington Oval in Barbados on Saturday. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bat first. Notably, India is playing their second ICC final in the time span of 8 months.

Playing-11 remains unchanged

Both Indian captain Rohit Sharma and South African skipper Aiden Markram opted to stick with their original playing 11 for this crucial match. South Africa, reaching the final of a World Cup (T20 and ODI) for the first time, aims to make history with a potential title win. Meanwhile, India, under the leadership of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, clinched the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007.

What has Rohit Sharma said after winning toss?

After winning the toss, Indian captain Rohit Sharma announced the decision to bat first, citing the favorable pitch conditions. He acknowledged the team's previous successful outing at the venue and emphasized the importance of each player understanding their roles clearly. Despite the importance of the occasion, Sharma emphasized the need to approach the game calmly, treating it like any other international match against a strong opponent like South Africa.

What if rain interrupts?

In case rain disrupts the final match, a reserve day (June 30) is scheduled as per ICC regulations. Every attempt will be made to ensure a conclusive result on Saturday. For the match to be deemed valid, both teams must complete a minimum of 10 overs. Moreover, an extra 190 minutes of playtime is allotted across both the final day and the reserve day to accommodate interruptions.
