Cape Town witnessed a day full of dramatic swings in the second Test between India and South Africa on Wednesday. India's rollercoaster innings stole the show after South Africa was sensationally bundled out for 55. In response, the Indian team managed to post 151 runs after a dramatic collapse in the middle order. The Protese men scalped 6 wickets in just 11 deliveries.

South Africa lost 3 wickets in 2nd innings

In the second innings, South Africa's opening pair of Aiden Markram and Dean Elgar provided a solid start to the team. The pair added 37 runs for the first wicket. Mukesh Kumar dismmised Dean Elger, who is playing the last match of his international carrier. He scored 12 runs off 28 deliveries. Mukesh went to dismiss Tony de Zorzi giving the advantage to the visitors. Ace pacer Jasprit Bumrahdismised Tristan Stubbs, adding to the woes of the South African team. The second innings of South Africa concluded on Day 1 as the scorecard read,  62/3 in 17 Overs. South is trailing by 36 runs.

Earlirer in first innings, the Indian team managed to post 151 runs after a dramatic collapse in the middle order. Rohit Sharma set the tempo as he scored some quick runs on a challenging pitch. The Indian skipper scored 39 runs off 50 deliveries before being dismissed by Nandre Burger. Shubhman Gill looked solid during his short stay, as the batter scored 36 runs on a challenging track, which has extra bounce and movements to offer for pacers.

India takes lead

The pair of Virat Kohli and KL Rahul guided India to a healthy total of 111/4 at Tea, with a 56-run lead. However, the afternoon sun brought a brutal twist as Lungi Ngidi triggered a dramatic meltdown. In a blink, India lost four wickets for five runs, losing KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, and Virat Kohli in the 36th over. King Kohli played another skilful innings as he scored 46 runs off 59 deliveries. Ngidi's double strike, followed by Rabada claiming Kohli and a mix-up that sent Siraj back to the pavilion, turned the tide in a mere 11 balls. Prasidh Krishna's dismissal off the fifth ball of the next over added to the chaos, leaving India reeling at 153/8. Although Rohit's men were bundled out to 153, India took a healthy lead of 98 runs.

The trio of Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi and Nandre Burger claimed three-wicket hauls each.

South Africa's rollercoaster innings

The collapse overshadowed South Africa's earlier humiliation. Mohammed Siraj wreaked havoc on the Proteas top order, claiming a career-best 6/15 in just nine overs. Dean Elgar, Aiden Markram, and Marco Jansen were among his victims, as South Africa crumbled for a paltry 55. No batters, other than David Bedingham and Kyle Verreynne managed to reach double figures.

Earlier in the innings, Dean Elger, who is playing his last match, won the toss and decided to bat first at Newlands in Cape Town. India made two team changes as Ravindra Jadeja and Mukesh Kumar replaced Ravichandran Ashwin and Shardul Thakur, who failed to make an impact in the first encounter of the two-match Test series. South Africa won the first match. South Africa made three changes as Tristan Stubbs, Lungi Ngidi and Keshav Maharaj came in place of Keegan Petersen, Temba Bavuma and  Gerald Coetzee
