In a shift in the India-New Zealand match of the Champions Trophy final, ace spinner Kuldeep Yadav caused Team India their second surprise. Yadav bowled clean Rachin Ravindra, giving the Men in Blue the much-needed relief. The break-through came at the right moment when the Kiwi team began aggressively and threatened India with so much pressure.

Deciding to bat first after the toss, New Zealand batted aggressively, attacking Indian fast bowlers right from the beginning. Indian fast bowlers were unable to withstand the attack as Kiwi openers went hammer and tongs. Hoping for the breakthrough, captain Rohit Sharma brought in his spinners, an action which yielded dividends in the very first ball.

Kuldeep Yadav's breathtaking delivery

Kuldeep Yadav was brought into the attack in the 11th over, and he did not take long to make an impact. In his first ball of his spell, he bowled a beauty that left Rachin Ravindra utterly foxed, ripping out his stumps. Ravindra, who was giving the Indian bowlers a run for their money, was sent back to the pavilion for a paltry 37 off 29 balls, which had four boundaries and a six.

His removal was a confidence-booster for India to a great extent since he had already thrashed 16 runs from one over by Hardik Pandya. New Zealand had established a solid foundation with the first-wicket stand of 57 runs, and his removal put the gears in India's direction.

New Zealand's decision to bat first

New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner had won the toss and chose to bat first, hoping to get a difficult score to chase on the board. They began in their attacking fashion with a rip-roaring start, but India's spinners stepped in at the right time.

With Ravindra's removal, Indian bowling was back in the business, and the match was intriguing. With every game, the Men in Blue will try to take advantage of this break-through and consolidate their hold on the last.
