IND vs ENG: India announced its squad on Thursday, for the fifth Test match of the bilateral series against England. The ace pacer, Jasprit Bumrah will rejoin the contingent of the series-ending clash. The vice-captain was rested for the fourth game in Ranchi. The BCCI has taken the step to manage his workload as the highly anticipated Indian Premier League (IPL) followed by the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, which will be organized in the USA and the West Indies. 

Outstanding Bumrah

The speedster has been brilliant in the first three matches of the series, where he dismissed 17 batters at an outstanding average of 13.64. Bengal's seamer Akash Deep was included in the playing XI for the Ranchi Test. India has the services of  Mohammed Siraj and Mukesh Kumar for a Test match, where the pitch is expected to favor the pace bowlers. 

KL Rahul ruled out 

On the other hand, experienced batter KL Rahul has been ruled out of the Test after failing to fully recover from a quadriceps injury, which he sustained during the series opener clash in the Hyderabad Test. As per the reports, he has been sent to London for expert medical care.  

Washington Sunder to join Ranji squad for semifinals

The BCCI has released Washington Sundar from the squad to play in the Ranji Trophy semifinal clash for the Tamil Nadu vs Mumbai, which is starting from March 2. However, if needed Sunder will rejoin the Test squad in Dharamsala after the completion of the semi-final fixture. Notably, the final game of the series is scheduled to commence on March 7. 

Meanwhile, BCCI hasn't provided any update regarding the availability of stalwart batter Virat Kohli, who was recently blessed with a baby boy.
