ICC rankings: The recent Test series between India and England propelled Indian players to make strides in the latest ICC Test rankings released on Wednesday. The heroics of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, and Dhruv Jurel in the series-clinching win at Ranchi propelled them to new heights in the individual rankings.

Yashasvi Jaiswal gains career-best rankings in Test

Yashasvi Jaiswal, who is the leading run scorer jumped three spots to a career-best 12th position. Shubman Gill, who fell just short of a century in the second innings, climbed four positions to grab the 31st spot in the latest Test rankings. The hero of the fourth Test match against England, wicketkeeper-batsman Dhruv Jurel secured 69th position.

Jasprit Bumrah becomes No 1 Test bowler

The rankings weren't just about the Indian youngsters. Veteran pacer Jasprit Bumrah retained his number-one ranking in the Test bowlers' list despite missing the fourth Test. His compatriot, Kuldeep Yadav, made a remarkable comeback, jumping a massive 10 spots to equal 32nd, tying his career-high ranking, after a four-wicket haul in the second innings.

Jop Root climbs Test allrounders' rankings

England players also saw some upward movement. Opener Zak Crawley rose ten spots to a career-best 17th position after scores of 42 and 60 against India. The former England's skipper, J0e Root notched his 31st Test century in Ranchi and climbed three places to fourth in the Test all-rounders' rankings, though Ravindra Jadeja remains firmly in the lead in that category.

Looking beyond the Test rankings, the T20I rankings saw Australia's Josh Hazlewood make a comeback. The ace bowler re-entered into the top ten at a joint seventh position after a six-place jump. New Zealand's Lockie Ferguson also made significant progress, climbing 20 spots to 29th after taking five wickets in the series.
