Star bowlers have made a significant move in the MRF Tyers ICC Men’s ODI bowling rankings published on Wednesday at the ongoing ODI World Cup, even as the games have seen the high scoring encounters.

Josh Hazlewood’s brilliance

Australia’s ace pacer Josh Hazlewood has secured the top spot in the latest rankings released by the ICC. Earlier, the Aussie shared the top spot with India’s speedster Mohammed Siraj in the previous ranking. Hazlewood made a move from 669 to 682 rating points after scalping 3/38 against ‘Men In Blue’ which includes wickets of Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer.

Siraj moves to second spot

India had won the game against Australia by six wickets. when Virat Kohli and KL Rahul came to the rescue after the top-order collapse. Earlier, Indian spinners Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav had shaken the Australian batting line-up to restrict them to mere 199 runs. Mohammed Siraj picked up the wicket of Mitchell Starc to finish with 1/26 from 6.3 overs which downgraded his rankings and moved back to the second position after dropping five points.

Kuldeep Yadav breaks into Top 10

However, left-handed chinaman spinner Kuldeep Yadav has climbed three spots to eighth after scalping 2/42 against Australia, while allrounder Ravinder Jadeja’s 3 for 28 lifts him 22 spots but he still sits outside the top 40 bowlers. New Zealand’s pacer Trent Boult holds the third rank and his compatriot Matt Henry holds the fifth position in the bowling rankings.

Shakib Al Hasan is No. 1 allrounder

Meanwhile, Bangladesh’s skipper Shakib Al Hasan holds the top position in the latest MRF Tyres ICC Men’s ODI All-rounder Rankings after scalping four wickets in their opening two clashes of the World Cup against Afghanistan and England.
