Sports News: The International Cricket Council (ICC) is seriously considering changing the rules of two new balls in ODI cricket. This change can mainly be made to provide additional help to bowlers and encourage the return of reverse swing. However, this rule will not be completely eliminated, but some of its aspects can be made significant changes.

Sachin Tendulkar criticized

Former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has already criticized this rule. He called it a "recipe of disaster" and argued that when the ball is not old, the reverse swing would not come, which is the biggest weapon of the bowlers in the death overs. Former Australian fast bowler Brett Lee also supported the idea.

Current rules of two new balls

According to the current rules, both new balls are used simultaneously, which means that every ball is played for only 25 overs and does not wear much. Whereas earlier a ball used to run for 35-40 overs, which led to reverse swing, which proved to be very beneficial for the bowlers.

Trying to improve over rate in Test cricket

ICC is also considering a new initiative to increase the over rate in Test cricket. It is proposed that a maximum time of 60 seconds should be determined between each over. In-game clock is already being used in white ball cricket, and its positive results have been seen. Its purpose is to ensure that 90 overs are completed in a day.
