How much will Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Rahul Dravid get from BCCI's Rs 125 crore prize?

New Delhi: Team India's victorious journey in the T20 World Cup of 2024 has brought a reward of Rs 125 crore for Rohit Sharma's squad. This amount covers several members who travelled to the United States of America and the West Indies, togetherly 42 people. Among them were 15 main players, support staff, reserves and others.

The prize money, awarded by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), is not only for the players but also for the entire support team. Each member's share of the prize varies depending on their role.

Distribution of prize money

According to media reports, each of the 15 team players, including those who didn't play, will receive Rs 5 crore. Head coach Rahul Dravid is also set to receive Rs 5 crore from the prize money. His coaching colleagues such as batting coach Vikram Rathour, fielding coach T Dilip, and bowling coach Paras Mhambrey will each get Rs 2.5 crore. The selection committee members, led by Ajit Agarkar, will receive Rs 1 crore each.

The support staff including physiotherapists, throwdown specialists, masseurs, and the strength and conditioning coach will receive Rs 2 crore each.

Players to submit invoices 

Reports also claimed that players and support staff have been notified about their prize money and have been asked to submit invoices. The BCCI selection committee also recognized four reserve players alongside the main squad, Rinku Singh, Shubman Gill, Avesh Khan, and Khaleel Ahmed. These reserve player will receive Rs 1 crore each. After their return, the Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde also announced an additional reward of Rs. 11 crore for the victorious Indian team.

India defeated South Africa to claim their second T20 World Cup title, their first since 2007. The victory in Barbados was secured by an incredible catch from Suryakumar Yadav and superb death bowling. India won the match by seven-run win.
