New Delhi: Manu Bhaker made history at the Paris Olympics, becoming the first Indian woman shooter to ever stand on the Olympic podium, securing a bronze medal in the womens 10m air pistol event on Sunday. She narrowly missed out on a silver medal, finishing just 0.1 points behind Kim Yeji, who went on to claim silver, while Oh Ye Jin of Korea took home the gold medal. Manu Bhaker was born in Haryanas Goria village. Her father, Ram Kishan Bhaker, works as a chief engineer in the Merchant Navy. Before becoming a shooter, she excelled in various sports like martial arts, boxing, tennis and skating.
