The Eden Gardens witnessed something extraordinary on Tuesday. In the ongoing clash between Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders, the aggressive allrounder, Sunil Narine hammered his T20 century of the carrier. He achieved this milestone after 15 years from the day he made his debut. The blitzing century came in just 49 deliveries for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL.

The destructive batter was promoted up the order. He proved the decision corrected by slamming 13 boundaries and six maximums on his way to slamming a 56-ball 109.

This time credit goes to Gautam Gambhir!

Among many factors, the rise of Sunil Narine can be attributed to Kolkata Knight Riders' mentor Gautam Gambhir. He has been using Narine as pitch-hitting during his stint as KKR's captain. Among many cricket experts was former Indian wicketkeeper batter Parthiv Patel, who praised GG for bringing Narine top of the order.

What Parthiv Patel has said?

In his commentary on Jio Cinema, Patel said that Gautam Gambhir was the skipper of Kolkata Knight Riders and he was convinced that Narine was one-of-a-kind batter. He was one who promoted Narine to the top of the order and that made the difference.

His hundred brought smiles on the faces of thousands of KKR fans. Among them was KKR's owner Shah Rukh Khan, who couldn't hold himself as was seen clapping and cheering for Narine.
