New Delhi: The senior mens selection committee, headed by Ajit Agarkar, has introduced significant changes for the second round of the Duleep Trophy 2024. Several top Indian players, including Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, and Rishabh Pant, have been released from their Duleep Trophy duties as they prepare for the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh. With the first Test starting on September 19, a preparatory camp has been scheduled in Chennai beginning September 12.Key changes in India A squadShubman Gill, originally the captain of India A, has been replaced by Mayank Agarwal, who will now lead the team. Alongside Gill, Dhruv Jurel, Kuldeep Yadav, and Akash Deep have also been released. Pratham Singh from Railways, Akshay Wadkar from Vidarbha, and SK Rasheed from Andhra Cricket Association have been named as their replacements. Kuldeep will be replaced by left-arm spinner Shams Mulani, while Aaqib Khan (UPCA) will step in for Akash Deep.Suryakumar Yadavs recoverySuryakumar Yadav, who is still recovering, has been given additional time to regain full fitness. It is expected that he will join the India C team, which remains unchanged, for the third round of the tournament.
