SA20 Expansion on the Horizon?

Allan Donald, SA20 Ambassador, hinted at the possibility of two new franchises joining the six-team SA20 league in the near future. Donald mentioned seeing rumors of a potential "Royal Challengers Bloemfontein" team. He noted the league's significant growth since its inception, largely due to backing from Indian Premier League (IPL) team owners.

Desire for Indian Player Participation

Donald expressed his desire to see more Indian cricketers participate in the SA20, including prominent figures like Jasprit Bumrah and Virat Kohli. He acknowledged the strength of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) but believes that the inclusion of Indian players would exponentially grow the league's popularity and competitiveness. Donald stated that if Indian cricketers were available, Graeme Smith and his team would seize the opportunity.

Continued Growth and Success

Allan Donald, nicknamed "White Lightening," praised the SA20's massive growth since its first year, noting that each season has surpassed the previous one. He believes that the inclusion of more global stars, particularly from India, would elevate the league to even greater heights. The Sunrisers Eastern Cape will compete in their third successive final against MI Cape Town, highlighting the league's competitive nature.
