Chetan Sharma resigns from his post as the head of the selection committee for the Board of Control of Cricket India. He sent his resignation to BCCI Secretary Jay Shah on Friday.Chetan Sharma, who was reinstated as Indias chief selector following the countrys bittersweet campaign at the T20 World Cup in Australia, got into trouble after being caught spilling insider information in a sting operation.Indian cricket was outraged by the remarks of the chief selector in the sting operation. He claimed that several players took injections to speed up their return to international cricket. He also disclosed the ego-clash between former Indian captain Virat Kohli and ex-BCCI President Saurav Ganguly.Virat Kohli stepped down as Indias captain when Saurav Ganguly was in charge. When Kohli stepped down as Indias captain, Ganguly claimed the BCCI had asked him to reconsider his decision. However, Kohli contradicted Ganguly by revealing that the decision was deemed a “progressive step” at the time by the apex Indian cricket board. Chetan said, that it was a perfect example of a player going up against the BCCI. Isnt it true that the president represents the BCCI It will be determined who was at fault in due course, but it was an attack on the BCCI.
