BAN vs NZ: New Zealand has managed to level the 2-match series by beating Bangladesh by four wickets on the fourth day of the second test on December 9. Ajaz Patel's six-wicket haul ripped through the batting of Bangladesh in the second innings to level the series at 1-1.

The tourist faced a batting collapse in pursuit of 137 runs on a challenging track at Mirpur's Shere Bangla Stadium. Mehidy Hasan Miraz's three-wicket haul reduced New Zealand to 69/6  after that the tourists secured win helped by Glenn Phillips' unbeaten 40 and Mitchell Santner's 35 not-out knock.

Notably, Phillips was dropped by Bangladesh skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto which cost them the match. On the other hand, Phillips maintained his composure and guided them home.

What happened on Day 4?

On day four, Bangladesh had started on their overnight score of 38-2 but bundled out quickly after the impeccable bowling performances from Ajaz Patel and Mitchell Santer, who exploited the subcontinental conditions to trouble the batters. The hosts were bundled out for 144 before lunch.

Glenn Phillips was declared 'Player of the Match' while Taijul Islam, who claimed 15 wickets was the 'Player of the Series'.

Earlier, Bangladesh won the opening game by 150 runs in Sylhet, which was their first victory on home soil against New Zealand. This game also wraps up New Zealand's tour of Bangladesh which includes  3 ODIs and 2 Tests. New Zealand swept the three-match ODI series by 2-0 as the series opening game was a complete washout.
