According to a press release from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Naseem Shah had injured his right shoulder in this weeks match against India and will be monitored by the Pakistan teams medical panel to make suer of taking all the precautionary measures keeping in mind the upcoming ODI World Cup event. Apart from losing to India, Pakistans two best pacers, Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf, got injured in the high voltage match.The high-stakes encounter between Pakistan and India in Colombo led to an injury of Naseem Shah, who was bowling his tenth over in the 49th over of Indias innings on the reserve day when he walked off the field with an injury to his right shoulder.The press release added that Zaman Khan has joind the team and would train with the squad at the R Premadasa Stadium. Shahnawaz Dahani has been kept as a backup in case Rauf is ruled out as well.Zaman Khan who arrived in Sri Lanka this morning have joined the team practice sessions ahead of the knockout game tomorrow. He will replace injured Naseem Shah. #AsiaCup2023 pic.twitter.com/feEFlLiNFu— Nibraz Ramzan (@nibraz88cricket) September 13, 2023The PCB gave an update on Haris Rauf, who opted not to bowl on the second day of the match against India out of prudence, noting that he “continues to recover well” from the right flank pain he experienced on the first day of the match.The press release quoted the statment of tesams doctor Sohail Saleem “These two fast bowlers are our assets and the teams medical panel will provide them the best possible care ahead of the all-important World Cup”.Earlier, PCB had released a statement saying that this was just a precautionary measure, “This is only a precautionary measure keeping in mind the fitness and well-being of the players ahead of the ICC Mens Cricket World Cup next month. Haris and Naseem will continue to remain under the observation of the teams medical panel. The team management will only request replacement from the ACC technical committee if Naseem or Haris are ruled out for the next seven days”.
