Nepal's Dipendra Singh Airee made cricket history with a stunning display of power-hitting, leveling the legendary Yuvraj Singh's feat of hitting six sixes in an over. The Nepali cricketer achieved the milestone during a T20I match against Qatar in the ACC Premier Cup 2024. This remarkable achievement places him alongside cricket greats like India's stalwart allrounder Yuvraj Singh and West Indies' power hitter Kieron Pollard.

First player to smash six sixes twice

Airee's incredible performance didn't stop there; he also became the first cricketer ever to achieve this remarkable feat twice in T20Is. His previous accomplishment came during the Asian Games 2023, where he smashed six sixes in six consecutive balls against Mongolia, showcasing his exceptional batting on the international stage.

Blitzing innings at number 5

He took strike in the game at No. 5 and showcased his talent by scoring an explosive 64* off just 21 balls, which included seven sixes and three fours. The historic over, where he dispatched six sixes, was bowled by Kamran Khan, which propelled Nepal's total to 210/7 in 20 overs.

Dipendra Singh Airee's dominant performace

This isn't the first time Airee has left his mark on the cricketing world. At the Asian Games 2023, he was part of Nepal's record-breaking performance against Mongolia. Airee's fearless batting, coupled with his remarkable consistency, has cemented his status as a rising star in the cricketing arena.

Moreover, Airee's teammate, Kushal Malla, also made headlines during the Asian Games match against Mongolia, where he achieved the fastest-ever T20I century in just 34 balls, surpassing the records set by David Miller and Rohit Sharma.

Airee's phenomenal nine-ball fifty in the same match further solidified his reputation as an all-round talent, surpassing Yuvraj Singh's record for the fastest T20I half-century, previously set in 2007.

With his exceptional performances, Dipendra Singh Airee has not only etched his name in the annals of cricket history but also inspired a new generation of cricketers in Nepal and beyond.
