New Delhi: In a thrilling match, Afghanistan secured a spot in the T20 World Cup semifinals by defeating Bangladesh by 8 runs. Afghanistan batted first and set a challenging target, showcasing strong performances from their top order. Despite a resilient effort from Bangladesh's batsmen, Afghanistan's bowlers held their nerve, restricting Bangladesh to fall short of the target. Afghanistan created history 

Rashid Khan's captaincy Afghanistan team created history at St. Vincent Stadium in West Indies. Afghanistan defeated Bangladesh and made it to the semi-finals for the first time in World Cup history. Afghanistan will face South Africa in the first semi-final.

Australia hope ended 

With Afghanistan's victory, Australia's hopes of reaching the semi-finals ended. The Kangaroo team has been eliminated from the World Cup due to low run rate.

Rashid Khan won toss 

Rashid Khan won the toss and decided to bat first. Afghanistan gave a target of 115 runs thanks to Rahmanullah Gurpaz's 43-run innings. Bangladesh team was able to score 105 runs. Naveen Ul Haq took 2 consecutive wickets in the 18th over and got the team all out. Liton Das, who scored 54 runs, remained standing at one end and wickets kept falling from the other side.

Decided to bat first 

Afghanistan won the toss and decided to bat first. Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran, who came to open the innings for the team, once again made a half-century partnership but they were playing very slow and it seemed difficult to score runs against Bangladesh. In such a situation, the pressure increased and Ibrahim Zadran was out on 59 runs.

After this, Afghanistan's rhythm deteriorated. Wickets were falling in front but Gurbaz stood firm. Gurbaz played a brilliant innings of 43 runs but he too was out in the 17th over. Later, captain Rashid Khan hit two sixes in the last over and took the team to a score of 115 runs.
