The much-anticipated player’s draft of Abu Dhabi T10n 2023 has been announced on Monday. The cricket’s fastest team will feature eight teams including Bangla Tigers, Chennai Braves, Deccan Gladiators, Delhi Bulls, Morrisville Samp Army, New York Strikers, Northern Warriors, and Team Abu Dhabi.

The list of retained players and direct signings for the season was also released by the cricket’s fastest format.

The latest edition of the Abu Dhabi received registration of 782 players from across the globe, including the biggest names in international cricket. Former Pakistan’s allrounder, Shahid Afridi is among the list of stars who will be up for on Monday, along with Wahab Riaz, Mohammad Hafeez, Bangladesh’s batsman Tamim Iqbal, and Sri Lanka’s allrounder Dasun Shanaka.

The pre-signed player’s list features former Indian superstars including batter Ambati Rayudu, and explosive allrounder Yusuf Pathan. While Bangla Tigers signed in the explosive all-rounder Yusuf Pathan, Delhi Bulls have signed on the batter Ambati Rayudu.

Speaking on competing in the upcoming edition of Abu Dhabi T10, Pathan said, “The 10-over format is exciting and hence, I am always delighted to be a part of the league. My aim is to entertain the fans and help my team win the trophy this season.”

Among the major retentions for the new season, the title winners of 2022, Deccan Gladiators have managed to get hold of left-handed batter Nicholas Pooran. The explosive batter was the leading run-scorer of the previous edition as he smashed 345 runs in 10 matches at an astonishing average of 49.29 with a strike rate of 234.69.

Meanwhile, The Chennai Braves retained their regular skipper Sikandar Raza, who has performed consistently over the year, and Pakistan bowling all-rounder Hassan Ali, as well.

The defending champions roped in ace Kiwi pacer Trent Boult on board, while Morrisville Samp Army has manged to bring on former South Africa Captain Faf du Plessis.

New York Strikers, the runners-up of last season, retained former West Indies skipper and star allrounder Kieron Pollard, while Morrisville Samp Army managed to hold England’s allrounder Moeen Ali. Team Abu Dhabi has retained England’s Philip Salt and Alex Hales in their squad for the season.

Shaji Ul Mulk, Chairman, of T10 Global, said on the upcoming draft, “The franchises have made their first moves with smart player retentions and direct signings. Some selections may come as a surprise, indicating the teams already have a few tricks up their sleeves, promising another high-octane draft day and an even more exciting edition of the Abu Dhabi T10″.
