Indian men's and women's cricket teams face a packed calendar overflowing with international clashes, prestigious tournaments, and exciting league debuts, all fueled by the fervent hope of ending India's long-standing wait for an ICC trophy.

The year kicks off with the hope of erasing the memory of India's trophy drought. The 'Men in Blue' and the 'Women in Blue' set their sights on the respective T20 World Cups in June and September, respectively. India lifted the last ICC trophy in 2013 under the captaincy of MS Dhoni, where India won against England in the 2013 Champions Trophy.

India's quest to lift ICC title continues

January begins with the ongoing battle against the South Africa Test series after a humiliating defeat in the first test. India will face another challenge as they lock horns with England in a five-match home series, a major stepping stone in their quest for World Test Championship glory. Before facing England, they will look to navigate a crucial T20I series against Afghanistan, their final tune-up before the T20 World Cup. In between these high-stakes encounters, the Indian Premier League (IPL) will be played from March to May.

The 'Women in Blue' begin their journey with a home ODI series against Australia, aiming to level the score before taking on the same team in a three-match T20I series.

  • January: 3-7, 2nd Test vs South Africa in Cape Town (1:30 PM IST)
  • January: 11-7, 3-match T20I series at home vs Afghanistan (7:00 PM IST)
  • January: 19-February 11, ICC U19 World Cup in South Africa
  • January: 25-March 11, 5-match Test series at home vs England (9:30 AM IST)

  • June: 4-30, ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in West Indies/USA
