Ahead of the highly anticipated IPL auction, Rishabh Pant is preparing for a historic moment – his first-ever appearance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction. After a lengthy recovery from a horrific car accident, Pant is back in action and ready to make his mark in this event, which is scheduled for tomorrow at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai.

"It is something new and exciting," Pant declared in a video posted by Delhi Capitals. "I haven't been a part of the auction process before. I am looking forward to it."

Pant has been a mainstay in the IPL since his debut in 2016. He smashed 2838 runs in 98 matches at a blistering strike rate of 147.97.

Pamt's journey from car accident

However, a near-tragic car accident in December 2022 put his career on hold. It took months to recover followed by intense rehabilitation and unwavering determination. The 26 years old is now, fully recovered and back on the field. Fans across the country are eagerly waiting for his return to the field.

333 players to go under the hammer

Notably, the real IPL 2024 auction will be held tomorrow, December 19th, at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai. Around 333 players, including 214 Indians and 119 overseas talents, will be up for grabs across 10 franchises. However, franchises have only 77 slots available. Big names like Mitchell Starc, Travis Head, and Rachin Ravindra are expected to attract intense bidding which has the potential to break records of the IPL.

Earlier in 2023, Sam Curran was the highest-paid cricketer who was bagged by Punjab Kings for RS 18.5 crore. It will be interesting to see if any player goes past him this time around.
