Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batsman Ramandeep Singh has shed a bombshell stating that franchise players have been betting big on high-stakes betting in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Ramandeep has made an unexpected admission revealing that top stars like former KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer bet on gaming applications.
Ramandeep revealed that KKR's gaming room is where all the action happens, with the players staking up to INR 10 lakh on FIFA and poker games. He named Shreyas Iyer, Nitish Rana, Vaibhav Arora, and Vivek Singh among the top players who are avid gamers who participate in these big-bet wagers.
FIFA betting is a big deal, with players wagering up to INR 1 lakh per match, Ramandeep says. Poker betting is a different scale altogether, however, with the wagering going up to INR 10 lakh per match.
In a turn of events, Kolkata Knight Riders beat Rajasthan Royals by 8 wickets and earned their first victory in IPL 2025. KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane credited the win to the outstanding bowling effort of the team.
The win was attributed to the bowling unit by KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane, "We bowled exceedingly well in the first six overs. The middle overs counted too the way the spinners managed things."
