New Delhi: Telugu superstar Nagarjuna Akkineni addressed the recent demolition of his N-Convention Centre in Hyderabad, firmly denying allegations of land encroachment on Sunday. Nagarjuna took to social media to clarify that no part of the land on which the convention center was built was unlawfully acquired. "I want to emphasize that the land used for the N-Convention Centre is legally documented as patta land. We have not encroached upon even a single cent of additional land," Nagarjuna stated on Twitter.

Andhra Pradesh court's judgment

Nagarjuna highlighted that the Andhra Pradesh special court had previously ruled on February 24, 2014, confirming that there was no encroachment at Tummidikunta Lake. “This matter has already been presented before the High Court, and we will fully comply with the law and the court's judgment,” he added.

Controversy surrounding demolition

The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection (HYDRAA) agency conducted the demolition, citing violations of land use and environmental regulations. According to officials, the N-Convention Centre, which spans 10 acres, was found to encroach upon Tummidikunta Lake, occupying 1.12 acres within the Full Tank Level (FTL) and an additional 2 acres in the lake’s buffer zone.

Nagarjuna expressed his dissatisfaction with the demolition process, claiming it was carried out unlawfully and without prior notice. He criticized the action as contrary to existing stay orders and ongoing court cases. “I am deeply pained by the manner in which the demolition was executed, and I wish to clarify the facts to safeguard my reputation and show that we have adhered to legal norms,” Nagarjuna said.
