PM Modi, during his three-day visit to the US, has quite extensive plans. While Modi has been meeting representatives of different sectors, he also did not leave any stones unturned to observe and celebrate the International Day for Yoga in the US. For this year’s Yoga Day, the theme is ‘Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’. Aptly just!

On the occasion of the Yoga Day, Modi was seen performing yoga with many Indians in the US, expatriates, dignitaries, politicians, actors and philanthropists. Besides, UN officials, envoys, delegates from UN member states, ambassadors among other notable personnel were also present.

New York ballerina Annelies Richmond led the Yoga Day celebrations from the UN headquarters. President of the 77th United Nations General Assembly Csaba Korosi, actor Richard Gere, New York City mayor Eric Adams, Vala Afshar, Jay Shetty, Vikas Khanna and Ricky Kej took part in this Yoga Day event.

UNGA President Csaba Kőrösi said on the mega Yoga session, “Yoga changes our physical performance but it can spark in us different mental and intellectual performance. I have been an admirer of Yoga. Our world needs balance and self-control. Yoga is one of the means of achieving this. ” Ambassador of India to the UN Ruchira Kamboj said, “Today’s celebration is indeed very special as PM Modi will lead us in doing yoga here. It is under his leadership that 21st June was declared as #InternationalYogaDay”.
