The latest updates state that wrestlers Bajrang Punia and Sakshee Malikkh have arrived at Union Minister Anurag Thakur’s residence following the receipt of a new proposal for talks between the protesting wrestlers and the Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur for the discussion of the issues raised by them during the protest.

Anurag Thakur on Tuesday late night, taking it to Twitter said that government is open to talking to the wrestlers on the ongoing issues. He mentioned in the tweet, “I have once again invited the wrestlers for the same.”

Notably, the wrestlers have been protesting the arrest of the chief of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh over the allegations of sexual harassment.

Earlier in the day, wrestler Sakshi Malik said that they will discuss the issues over the talks with the government and will take a consensus decision. As per sources, Sakshee Malikkh said, “We will discuss the proposal given by the government with our seniors and supporters. Only when everyone gives their consent that everything is fine, then only will we agree. It won’t happen that we will agree to anything that government will convey and end our protest.”

Notably, Delhi police are currently probing the allegations against the WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh based on FIR.
