The deceased, identified as Anita Devi, was allegedly killed due to suspicion of having an extramarital affair.What is the caseOn May 25, the Rishikesh police recovered Anita Devis body from Dhandhla Pani near Neelkanth Road. An FIR (First Information Report) was registered by Sub-Inspector Laxman Singh Kunwar against unknown persons based on ligature marks found on the victims neck. CCTV footage from the Janaki Setu parking area revealed Anita with a group of people shortly before the incident.Following up on leads from the cars registration number, the investigation led the police to Gurgaon, Haryana. Mamta Devi, a resident of Jharkhand, reportedly had an illicit affair with Babita Devis husband, Ranjit. The investigation suggests that Mamta, fueled by resentment, conspired with Omveer and Babita to eliminate Anita.How were they arrestedThe police apprehended Mamta, Babita (residents of Jharkhand), and Omveer (resident of Haryana) from Gurgaon.
