Will do Satyagrah, if Delhi….: AAP minister Atishi on water crisis in national capital

The statement from the Delhi minister Atishi has come when the people of the national capital are gripping with severe water crisis in hot summers. During the press conference, she alleged that Haryana is not giving its full share of water to Delhi.

Amid a rising water crisis and a political tug-of-war in the national capital, Aam Aadmi Party Minister Atishi Singh said on Wednesday that if Delhi does not get its rightful share of water by June 21, she will be forced to do a 'Satyagraha'.

It is worth noting that the statement from the Delhi minister has come amid an ongoing water crisis when Delhi is dealing with the scorching heat. While speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Atishi said that she had written a letter to the Prime Minister saying that 28 lakh people in Delhi are not getting water. She also said that if Delhi did not get its rightful share of water by June 21, she would be forced to do Satyagraha. 

She also alleged that Haryana is not giving its full share of water to Delhi. Currently, the total supply of water in Delhi is 1050 MGD, out of which 613 MGD water comes from Haryana. She further said that on Tuesday, Haryana gave them only 513 MGD of water, due to which Delhi is short of 100 MGD water.

It is worth noting that Delhi has been facing a severe water crisis for the past few days. Meanwhile, prominent leaders of the BJP are holding protests in different areas of the national capital against on water crisis.
