New Delhi: A horrific crime shook the nation when a female doctor was brutally raped and murdered at R.G. Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata on August 9. This heinous act unleashed a wave of outrage that resonated across the country and prompted a united 11-day strike by doctors in protest.
In the aftermath of the Kolkata incident, a disturbing display of warped mentality surfaced again, as an auto driver shockingly threatened to replicate the heinous crime against school girl. The students promptly took immediate action by confronting and assaulting him, with passersby joining in to apprehend the driver. The driver later apologized and is now under police investigation, as the incident spread rapidly on social media.
A disturbing incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon near the Pardi police station in Nagpur. An auto driver's menacing comments referencing a horrific crime in Kolkata sparked a fierce confrontation with a school girl and local citizens. The altercation began when the driver asked the students to lower their volume while they were traveling in the auto and engaged in a loud conversation, leading to a heated argument and physical rebuke.
An alarming escalation of the argument led the driver to allegedly issue a menacing threat, saying, "I will do the same to you what happened to the girl in Kolkata," a reference to the recent rape and murder case in West Bengal which promptly spurred the students to demand that the driver bring the auto to an immediate halt. Upon compliance, the students forcibly removed the driver and commenced physically assaulting him and shortly thereafter, passersby who had witnessed the unfolding dispute also joined in, proceeding to attack the driver.
