New Delhi: RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has accused the Department of Agricultural Research and Education, a subsidiary of the Union Agriculture and Farmers Ministry, of scrapping reservations for marginalized communities in the recruitment of 368 Principal Scientist and Senior Scientist positions, shortly after the Narendra Modi government cancelled lateral entry recruitment in top bureaucracy through the Union Public Service Commission. Tejashwi alleges that a notification issued for a single post, which declared all positions unreserved, has effectively nullified reservations for Dalits, backward classes, and tribals, thereby denying them representation in these esteemed scientific roles, as stated in his tweet on social media platform X.

Tejashwi Yadav targets Bihar CM and Union Ministers

Tejashwi Yadav has directed a scathing inquiry at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Union Ministers Jitan Ram Manjhi and Chirag Paswan, challenging their stance on the controversial issue. In a tweet, Tejashwi attached a photograph of the reinstatement advertisement and elaborated, the Modi government, which has already introduced lateral entry in undergraduate and postgraduate levels, has now taken a regressive step by abolishing reservations for Dalits, backward classes, and tribals through a single-post advertisement issued by the Department of Agricultural Research and Education, deceitfully declaring that all undergraduate and postgraduate vacancies are unreserved, thereby contravening the principles of the constitution and reservation policies.

Tejashwi Yadav asks Bihar leaders to take a stand

Tejashwi said, "The government is now getting reservation in appointments in the Agriculture Department abolished through the alleged fake Prime Minister and ineffective Agriculture Minister. Will Nitish Kumar, Chirag Paswan and Jitan Ram Manjhi say anything against this usurpation of the rights of Dalits and backward classes?"

Following intense opposition protests, Prime Minister Narendra Modi intervened and directed Personnel Department Minister Jitendra Singh to take corrective action. Consequently, a formal letter was sent to the UPSC Chairman, requesting cancellation of the direct recruitment process for 45 key posts, including Joint Secretary, Deputy Secretary, and Director positions, previously opened to external experts.
