New Delhi: In a shocking incident that occurred in Punjab's Amritsar on Saturday morning, as a US-based Non-Resident Indian (NRI) was shot inside his home. The harrowing attack took place in Daburji village and was captured on CCTV footage, which has since gone viral on social media. Police are currently investigating the matter, with a case already registered.

The victim, identified as Sukhchain Singh, was in his residence when two men, both wearing turbans, entered the house. The CCTV footage from inside and outside the home shows the assailants firing three shots at Singh, targeting his head and neck. The horrifying video also captures Singh’s mother and child pleading with folded hands, desperately begging for mercy, but the attackers showed no hesitation.

Sukhbir Singh Badal expresses anger

Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal expressed his anger and concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in Punjab. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Badal wrote, "The law and order situation in Punjab has completely deteriorated. I am deeply saddened to witness what is happening in our state."

He continued, "This morning, miscreants fired shots after entering the house of our NRI brother Sukhchain Singh. Despite the mother and child's desperate pleas for mercy, the criminals did not relent. Chief Minister @BhagwantMann, such incidents are occurring every day under your leadership. Punjabis are not even safe in their own homes. I believe you should resign on moral grounds. I pray for Sukhchain Singh's recovery, who has been severely injured."
