Wife's deadly assault claims husband's life, shocking scene found

A chilling incident emerged from Deoria, Uttar Pradesh, where a woman allegedly killed her husband late Friday night in the Sadar Kotwali area’s Varva Gorasthan village. The victim, identified as Vijay Pratap Yadav, was found lifeless and drenched in blood by his young son the following morning.

The tragedy came to light around 11 AM on Saturday when Vijay’s 11-year-old son, Prince, went to wake his father. To his horror, he discovered his father’s blood-soaked body lying on the bed. His cries for help alerted the neighbors, who quickly gathered at the scene and informed the police.

The night of the incident

Vijay, the youngest of four brothers and a daily wage laborer, returned home late Friday evening. A heated argument reportedly broke out between him and his wife, Mamta, escalating to a deadly confrontation. In a fit of rage, Mamta allegedly attacked Vijay with a vegetable-cutting tool, fatally wounding him. She then fled the house, leaving the body behind.

Police investigation and arrest

Upon receiving the alert, the police arrived promptly, secured the crime scene, and sent the body for a post-mortem examination. Circle Officer Sanjay Kumar Reddy and Sadar Kotwali Inspector Dilip Singh inspected the area and spoke with the villagers. Initial inquiries revealed that Vijay had developed a drinking habit, leading to frequent disputes between the couple.

Acting swiftly, the police launched a manhunt and apprehended Mamta from Sonda village. Inspector Dilip Singh confirmed the arrest and stated that further investigation is underway.

The shocking incident has left the entire village in disbelief, with discussions about the couple's troubled relationship dominating conversations.
