New Delhi: In a shocking case from the Moradabad district, a man has been accused of divorcing his eighth wife via triple talaq and coercing her into prostitution. The case has been registered following serious allegations of abuse and sexual exploitation for money.

Eighth marriage ends in abuse, divorce

A man from Gulabbari, Moradabad, recently divorced his eighth wife using triple talaq. The victim, originally from Purnia, Bihar, and currently residing in Jayantipur, Majhola, has accused her husband of deceit and severe misconduct. She claims that he married her six years ago without disclosing his previous seven marriages.

Allegations of forced prostitution

The victim alleges that her husband, a habitual gambler and alcoholic, began forcing her into prostitution to earn money for his illegal activities. When she resisted, he would beat her mercilessly. Eventually, he divorced her by uttering triple talaq and expelled her from their home. Currently, the victim is staying with her maternal aunt in Jayantipur, Majhola.

Police investigation underway

The situation escalated on May 17, around 3 PM, when the victim was at her aunt's house. Her husband, accompanied by his brother and sisters, allegedly tried to forcibly remove her from the premises. Following this, SSP Hemraj Meena directed the Majhola SHO to file an FIR. CO Civil Lines Arpit Kapoor confirmed that a case has been registered against the accused husband, his brother, and brother-in-law, under multiple serious charges, including assault and the illegal practice of triple talaq.
