Immediately after being attacked by rival gang members in Tihar jail, Sunil Maan, also known as Tillu Tajpuriya, aged 33, was rushed to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital in Delhi, where he was declared dead upon arrival.Tajpuriya was reportedly stabbed to death with an iron rod by at least four inmates belonging to a rival gang inside Tihar Jail.The individuals who attacked and killed Tajpuriya with an iron rod inside Tihar Jail were identified as Deepak alias Titar, Yogesh alias Tunda, Rajesh, and Riyaz Khan. They were all inmates in the same ward, located on the first floor of the prison.Who was Sunil Maan alias Tillu TajpuriyaTillu Tajpuriya, who hailed from Tajpur village near Alipur in Delhi, was taken into custody in 2016 for various offenses and has been incarcerated since then.Tajpuriya was reportedly involved in the killing of Jitender Maan alias Gogi during a shootout inside a courtroom at Rohini courts complex in September 2021.Gogi, a notorious gangster who was also in Tihar jail, was attending a court hearing at the Rohini courts complex on September 24 when he was shot and killed by two gunmen who were wearing lawyers attire. The two gunmen were later identified as members of Tillu gang and were subsequently shot dead by the police. Gogi, who was from Alipur in outer Delhi, had been the most wanted gangster in Delhi prior to his arrest in March 2020. He had been wanted in connection with at least 19 cases of murder, robbery, and extortion.Tillu and Gogi were once friends but became rivals in 2009-10 due to their support for different candidates during elections held at Swami Shraddhanand College in outer Delhi.According to a special cell officer, Tillu and Gogi used to be friends but became enemies due to differences that arose during an election in Swami Shraddhanand College in outer Delhi in 2009-10. Their rivalry has resulted in the deaths of more than 20 people since 2013. Tillu was identified as the mastermind behind Gogis murder and was subsequently arrested and charged in connection with the case.
