In an unexpected turn of events, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Indresh Kumar made headlines with his recent remarks about the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Speaking at an event in Kanota near Jaipur on June 13, Kumar initially criticized the BJP, attributing its inability to secure a complete majority in the Lok Sabha elections to its "arrogance." However, taking a u-turn on his stance, he praised the party in his recent statement. He emphasized the power of those who uphold Lord Ram's resolve.

On Thursday, Indresh Kumar's comments at Kanota caused a stir. Without explicitly naming the BJP, he implied that the party's arrogance had led to its setback in the elections. "Those who did bhakti of Lord Ram gradually became arrogant."

Furthermore, he added, "That party was declared the biggest party but was stopped at 241 by Lord Ram due to arrogance." His statement suggested that the party's spiritual dedication had turned into pride, which ultimately hindered its electoral success.

The following day, Indresh Kumar appeared to take a more supportive stance towards the BJP. In a new statement, he praised the party, "Those who opposed Ram are all out of power, while those who took up Ram's resolve are now in power," Kumar stated.

Comments on the opposition

Indresh Kumar also took the opportunity to criticize the Opposition INDIA bloc, labeling them as "anti-Ram." He pointed out their collective electoral failure, noting, "And those who had no faith in Ram, they together were stopped at 234."

 

Election outcomes

The recent seven-phase general elections, held from April 19 to June 1, resulted in the BJP securing its third consecutive term at the Centre. Despite winning, the BJP did not achieve a single-party majority, governing instead with its National Democratic Alliance (NDA) partners. Together, they hold 293 seats in the 543-member Lok Sabha. The Congress party secured 99 seats, while the INDIA bloc collectively won 234 seats.
