In one of the recent incidents that has come to light from Uttar Pradesh an altercation erupted after an NRI father who had a family court order to take his autistic daughter at 2:30 pm and drop her back at 8 pm at the gate of IITL Nimbus - Express Parkview, Greater Noida, where his estranged wife lives. On Tuesday evening, the girl fell asleep, causing the father to arrive slightly late to drop her off, following which the tensions mounted.
In a video capturing the incident, tensions quickly escalated. Despite the circumstances and the apparent aggression from the mother and the guards, the father was arrested by the Noida police. The father asserts that the scuffle was provoked by the mother and the guards, who showed no empathy for the situation.
According to the father, the Noida police acted on a biased assumption that in any conflict between a man and a woman, the man is invariably at fault. This resulted in his immediate arrest without any investigation into the mother's or the guards' roles in the incident. The father's late arrival due to his daughter's unforeseen sleep should have warranted understanding rather than immediate blame.
More inputs on this are awaited.
